Arc'teryx Seattle

Local Brand Ambassador / Illustrator / Event Coordinator + Host / Speaker / Model

An Arc’teryx Community Ambassador is a representative of the values that Arc’teryx endeavors to bring into the communities to which we belong. An Ambassador is identified as a person who lives to explore, evolve, and do right. Regional Ambassadors are one of the many ways Arc’teryx can be a direct link to the community they wish to inspire to find their “Outer Peace”.

Working with the Seattle team on a number of initiatives, my role as an ambassador has been connecting the community through art and inclusive events.

An example of the events we facilitated together at Crystal Mountain was the Intro to Snowboarding and Steep Skiing for Women of Color. This was proposed by Trail Mixed, and hosted by the mountain. Our goal was to increase diversity & inclusion in the outdoors and welcome all BIPOC women & girls (transgender and cisgender) as well as non-binary people who identify within the women’s community to this event.

Everest At Home Challenge

Seattle-based alpinist, Andrew Hughes ventured off to Nepal to complete a rare 8000M+ double summit attempt of Everest & Lhotse in 24 hours––a feat completed by only approximately 40 people. The Everest At Home Challenge was hosted by Arc’teryx Seattle and The Collective, encouraging the community to ascend 20,000ft via sport of choice for the month of April, 2021.

These illustrations were commissioned to share along Andrew’s journey, for when he was unable to share photos or was out of cell range.

Spring Skiing + Splitboarding in the Cascades

A virtual panel hosted with other local Arc'teryx Ambassadors who shared their knowledge on skiing and splitboarding in the Cascade Mountains. Topics discussed included packing tips, preferred gear, top beta and planning resources, and recommendations for spring tours.

We designed this panel to appeal to a range of participants ranging from the beginner seeking beta on where to start, to a seasoned athlete seeking tips to be more efficient, this panel contained a wealth of information to support participants next mountaineering mission.
